The Bible Prohibited in Colorado
Senate Bill 200
After 400 years of religious freedom for those who wanted to own and
distribute Bibles on their own property in America, the Governor of
Colorado has put an end to it. SB08-200, signed into law last week
will prohibit the issuing, circulating, and distributing of Leviticus
20:13. While churches are exempted for now, Christian schools,
Christian book stores, private business, etc. are not.

Curious...
I just perused the entire bill, and didn't find anything in there that specifically prohibits the distribution of Bibles, nor did I find anything that says that Christian bookstores and schools are not allowed to distribute them. While I certainly think that the homosexual community would like to get rid of the Bible, this bill does not specifically disallow distributing them. It may be construed to do that by fearmongers who want to raise an issue.
But, let's not be paranoid just yet, and think that this is persecution. When persecution comes, it won't be disguised in a liberal law designed to prevent discrimination against homosexuals. It will be out-and-out and will cause real Christians to really suffer.
We are on our way there.
This is terrible!
So much for the first amendment.
I'm in agreement with Tracy. I just went through the entire bill and it said nothing about the distribution of the Bible or Leviticus 20:13. While I agree that persecution is coming, especially when members of the clergy step forward and support bills such as this one, this bill in and of itself does not constitute persecution. Before inciting others, we need to be very sure of what we are saying!
Leviticus 20:13 is a Bible verse. This Bible verse has been removed. This Bible verse cannot be distributed. Take away verses from the Bible and you now do not have the Bible. Therefore, the Bible cannot be distributed. I believe that is what this article is saying. I guess you could say that a partial version of the Bible may be distributed but again, that is not the whole Word of God. Today it's one verse, tomorrow it will be another. When is your opinion of when the Bible is not the Bible? After a chapter? I say after one verse! We can have no tolerance of this.

Hi, Marc.
Again... read thru the bill. I agree that it is a bad bill, but it does not prohibit the distribution of any literature that has Bible verses in it. To say it does is stretching the meaning of the bill.
Let me say again (lest I be charged with being a liberal), I don't agree with this bill and think it's a bad one. But, let's put it to the test regarding what is the intention of the legislators. I live in Colorado. I would be willing to guarantee that I can go to downtown Boulder (liberal Utopia) and pass out Bibles, even pointing out verses like Lev. 20:13, and others condemning homosexuality, and doubt that I would receive anything more than some verbal, and possibly physical abuse from the militants there.
Just my opinion.
Let's not freak out... YET.

'Marc' hit the nail on the head. I think this is the start of a testing ground, to see what kind of 'fight' there will be against such laws.
Perhaps there is nothing overtly stating the issue, one way or another, but we still need to speak up against the idea of censoring the Bible. A pre-emptive strike, if you will, to let these people know that the Christian community will NOT be pushed around and that we will not let the Word of God be messed with!
I have NO doubt that such censorship is on the way, and it will be in full force once a.C. is in control. Until then, however, we need to make it known that any attempts (present or future) to curtail religious freedom will not be tolerated. If we don't speak up now, we may not have that right when we need it.
